I know I didn't explain that well, but if you have the toy you can probably be with you, other wise I am just tiresome to show that we know why it didn't work 1/2 the time, it just isn't whatever business we could do to fix it.Anyhow, Dec 26th I called FP to see what to do (hadn't reasonably figured out all the higher than yet, but know it didn't work aptly). The lady I talked to was exceptionally nice (primarily given it is probably their chief protest day of the year!) and talked me owing to several equipment to see if we could get it effective (replacing batteries, making sure it wasn't blocked in demo mode). Anyhow all attempts made no difference. She said they would ship out a new unit. This made me lucky, and I was impressed. As a side note, she thanked *me* for life so nice,, which may have factored into being paid the free replacement....Second unit arrived promptly. Lacking compelling it out of the box I was able to test it and the new one does not seem to have the same conundrum, even if it does have issues with not registering when the handle is pulled (like a slot apparatus) every time. This is mentioned by other posters. It does work even if. My daughter is soothe not reasonably equipped for it, so I won't unbox it yet. I will fiddle with it a bit more and see if it works best after some use. The disk reader on the first did seem towork best after a few attempts (even if soothe only 1/2 the disks), so I have some hope that it will resolve to be a useful toy.With 2 of 2 units having problems, the only wits I gave a 2 star as a replacement for of 1 is because FP was splendid. I hoewver would not urge this to anyone or buy it as a gift.On FP's website this toy lists as life discontinued in 2007, so I wouldn't watch on being paid replacements for too much longer.

I was so excited about this toy for my 16 month old daughter. She squealed with delight when she opened it at Xmas. Unfortunately, the thing only worked for about 1 day. Then it TRIED to work but would only get about half way owing to a word and stop... like the batteries were dying. We replaced the batteries (my husband even checked the batteries with a voltage meter and they're fully functioning) and it still doesn't work. Very disappointing. On the bright side, I called Fisher Price and they're replacing the toy free of charge, so we'll see if the replacement is any better.

The sounds that you can make are restricted and not very creative appearance from a BMG product. I would be bowled over if the "songs" were bent/formal by the BMG as they are equally bland. Not to bring up the "tin-like" sounds appearance from the crap lecturer (did I bring up that?) As a BMG fan, this product looks to be no more than a great brand wrapped on a well-below average musical toy. Not not compulsory, especially at $[...]. Not even worth half of that.

Once my son got the hang of the stab with the "Leap Frog" toddler video I was eager to move on to some habitual faces thinking he would really get into the interactive play. But Dora (or as I described in my assess title, Bora) was disappointing. My son wandered off to do additional equipment until he heard it was time to push a button or move the stab. There is a storyline like like the television show but it is sooooo slow with little interaction.I gave this 1 star for fun because as I said, both my son (2 yrs old) and I found this to be boring.I gave it 3 stars for educational regard because I don't feel that my son really learned much from it. He by now knows his facts and knows animal names. What I was hoping for most from Dora was more Spanish as I am trying to ease my son into learning the foreign language but there were only a few terms. It was mostly facts in Spanish...which I by now know and can lecture him myself.I gave it 1 star for durability because, well...it is a dvd. My son could easily break that if he got his hands on it. Sure it is in a case but has that ever bunged a toddler before?I say if you want to get a toddler Little Leaps dvd to start with the LeapFrog one called "Leap Yet to be".I purchased Dora and the Thomas Little Leaps dvds at an incredible fee. With a bit of luck Thomas will be better. But I am glad I didn't pay full fee!

Metro-North Railroad commuters faced a hellish ride home Thursday night as a giant signal snafu left them stranded at stations and stuck on trains for two hours before service was finally restored.

Long Islanders endured hourslong commutes on snow-slickened roads and slow homeward rides on packed LIRR trains Tuesday.

They could face another tough go Wednesday morning.

Work crews battled through the night to plow and salt roads as temperatures dipped as low as 10 degrees overnight. A winter storm warning was set to expire Wednesday morning at 8, forecasters said.

Roberto Romero left his job at a Mastic furniture store about noon and headed home to Melville, but said it took him more than four hours to reach Farmingdale via Sunrise Highway. "It's no good -- bumper to bumper," said Romero, 47.

Nassau and Suffolk police said they saw a higher-than-normal volume of car accidents on Long Island's roadways as record snowfall blanketed the region, but neither agency could provide specific numbers. The state Department of Transportation said a fleet of about 500 workers and 300 vehicles -- including plows, salters and loaders -- was deployed by early afternoon as the storm intensified.

The Long Island Rail Road added extra trains Tuesday afternoon to accommodate commuters going home early because of the snowstorm, but some passengers complained of lack of planning.

"It was packed," said Margaret Ammirati of Westbury, who took a 2:52 p.m. train. "If you tell people to leave early, you should have been prepared."

LIRR spokesman Sal Arena said it added service "as needed," but did not have specifics on branches or schedules.

But at the Huntington station, Janett Jarrett, traveling from East New York to her home in Huntington via Jamaica Station, said the trains were packed with barely any standing room. But she was grateful because it was actually a train the railroad had extended to run farther east than its original destination at Hicksville.

"I didn't think it would be as packed because it was an extra train," she said. "But I guess with everyone getting out early, that's what happened. I'm just glad I got on, because some people couldn't."

At midnight, the LIRR began following a weekend schedule, which it will follow Wednesday. That means about 60 percent of weekday trains. The LIRR will provide bus service for customers on its West Hempstead line and stations east of Ronkonkoma.

Commuters coming into the Ronkonkoma train station just before 6 Tuesday night left a delayed, packed LIRR train that had pulled out of Penn Station at 3:55 p.m. They then had to dig out their cars in the snow-covered parking lot.

The Nassau Inter-County Express, or NICE Bus, told its riders to expect delays and possible detours, especially on the North Shore, as road conditions worsened during the storm. Service on some Suffolk County Transit bus routes that was suspended was to resume at 8 a.m. Wednesday.

There is an mast, but we keep the mast tucked away to prevent it from being broken off. While they each have one of these, we have a handheld two-way radio we use to reach them. There is an issue where they can't converse with us except we first hit the talk button. It's like the handheld loses signal. We assume this is the handheld and not the watches, but we're not certain. Our plan is to get another set of these for us to use, and I expect we will no longer have any issues.The only issue I have with the watches is there is no battery indicator. We try to charge them nightly, but it would be nice to know how much battery is left. I believe the only time battery is shown is when it is low and needs exciting. We have yet to see that show up, so I would say the battery life is sweet good, even if not thoroughly tested by us yet.Our boys wear these on their small wrists without much problem. They appear to accommodate a wide range of sizes and fit closely on their wrists, as well as ours. It is very bulky, but this is expected. Giving these to children you can expect them to accumulate some wear and tear. My 8 year old was pony playing and scratched his up a little, but it didn't affect the performance at all.Irrevocably, they absolutely love them.
